| Allow me to introduce myself... My name is Lisa M. Newman. Once upon a time, I was apprehensive at the thought of speaking in front of people. Sure, I could do it, but it ranked somewhere up there with walking barefoot across hot coals and broken glass. As fate would have it, I was offered a teaching position with a small, private college. It wasn't long before I grew comfortable in my teaching role and speaking in front of just about any group. Now, I thoroughly enjoy public speaking. Wanting to reach further outside of my comfort zone ultimately led to the creation of this consulting firm which allows me the privilege of imparting useful information to anyone who is willing to listen. What makes my sessions different... I offer sessions geared toward groups of 15 to 50 people. Because I consider myself a facilitator and not a speaker, my sessions are highly interactive. Participants are engaged through a variety of methods including hands-on activities, group exercises, and practical simulations. No two sessions are ever the same; I incorporate unique aspects into each session I facilitate. I use stimulating visual aids and distribute helpful written resources to complement presentation of the material. At the end of the session, you will be able to apply the skills you have learned to grow personally and professionally. I think it is important that my sessions be practical, and I have designed them to meet that purpose. My approach as a facilitator... l have been told that I have a flair for the dramatic and, admittedly, I can be quite animated during my sessions. I suppose you can chalk that up to genuinely enjoying what I do. And I'd like to think people who attend my sessions appreciate that. Bottom line --- I believe that the learning environment should be fun and reciprocal. I enjoy using humor and I value an active dialogue with the participants in my sessions. I relish my role as Chief Learning Officer. If you are willing to go along with the ride, I can promise you it will not be boring.
